EVENT LOCATION: Please note - ALL events start and finish from Shadbolt Park in New Lynn, West Auckland Click here (112kb pdf) for a location map.

There will be an almost compulsory pre event registration being held on Friday 16 September, 10am - 8pm, Trusts Stadium foyer

The reason we ask you to come by and see us is to make your life easier on event day, and ours too. You will collect your race number, timing transponder and race pack, plus you can also collect your tickets to the post event dinner and prize giving, plus some of our sponsors will be on site with event specials, and you can buy your custom event apparel here too.

The post event function / dinner / prize giving will be held at the Trusts Stadium and is always a really good night out - mix it up with some of Arthur's "boys", the likes of Garth Gilmour and Barry Magee, among others. This year's after dinner speaker will ex Black Cap, now very keen and handy runner, Mark "Rigor" Richardson.

Adults $35
Children (u 12 years) $20

Race day clothing - what not to wear!
Please please please avoid running in dark clothing. Low cloud in around West Coast Road and Scenic Drive can reduce visibility significantly and we want you to be as visible as possible out there.

Event parking.
The small rugby clubrooms carpark can be used for parking but we expect this to fill quickly. Additional road parking will be available on Portage Road, Kinross Road and other surrounding streets.

Please keep in mind that 5-10 minute walks to the registration area may be inevitable especially for the half marathon field so please arrive with plenty of time up your sleeve and please carpool wherever possible.

Facilities at the start / finish area.
Porterloos in the large carpark but no changing facilities. You will however be able to leave any gear with us in a designated gear tent.

Race start.
Gary Lydiard will be starting the event on the airhorn at the intersection of Golf Rd / Portage Rd. Self seeding will apply. All competitors have approx 200 - 300m of road (essentially up until the first corner) available before the course moves strictly to the footpaths - all competitors must comply with this.

Course markings / marshals.
The course is well laden with event marshals and they will be placed at all key areas on the course. The event course is the footpath. In certain areas where no footpath exists the course will be the far left hand shoulder of the road. In only one case (a small section through the Titirangi shops) will runners be running into traffic without a footpath.

Competitors will need to follow all directional signage (red arrows on a white corflute backing) and obey all instructions from both our event marshals and Traffic Management NZ crew.

Drink stations.
Info regarding km placement, location and what's available at each can be found on the event website.

Km markings.
Small corflute signage will be erected every 2km on the respective courses. This signage should provide you with a relatively accurate guide of where you are on the course. Aid station marshals will know the distance at their respective points but please don't rely on them feeding you this information - self education prior to the event is always healthy.
