Start Time and Location:

8.45am. Start (and finish) from Shadbolt Park, Portage Road, New Lynn, Auckland.

For those not so keen on the Legend Marathon or Arthur's Half distances, we've put together a gem of a course, which we've aptly named the "Titirangi 10km". It takes in some of the best bits from the Marathon and Half courses, but doesn't have anywhere near the climbing metres that the other courses do! It has approx 120 metres of climb in total, so nothing at all to be afraid of in the "hills" department!

The Titirangi 10km run and walk starts and finishes in the same place as the Marathon and Half, which is on Portage Road, adjacent to Shadbolt Park in New Lynn, West Auckland.

The course is a single loop, which starts by heading along Portage Road, then heads along Links Road and Margan Ave, then left into and along Titirangi Road. The course then turns left onto Golf and right on Stottholm Road.

**Changes** There have been a few last minute adjustments to the course for 2015. The new map will uploaded very shortly.

From Links road, runners turn left to Astley Ave run up there and cross at a marshaled point. They then run down Isllington Ave turning right into Hutchinsons Ave ad over the crossing heading towards Margan Ave ****

The final stretch rejoins the Marathon and Half Marathon courses (the downhill bit!) and makes a left turn onto Godley Road, with the final left hand turn into and along Portage Road to the finish!

Training Schedules by Arthur Lydiard

Thanks to Arthur's good friend Garth Gilmore we are able to offer those looking for some training pointers Arthur Lydiard's original marathon and half-marathon schedules. These were published in Run To the Top in 1962. They were in good old-fashioned miles and yards but are re-produced here in metric distances. They are Arthur's own Marathon training schedules for his famous Waiatarua course, which is the course in which this event is run on.
